Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom Sends Letter to CSU Chancellor Charles B. Reed and Chairman Herb Carter Requesting to Place Support Budget and Tuition Increases Back on Agenda

Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom today sent the following letter to CSU Chancellor Charles B. Reed and Chairman Herb Carter requesting that the 2012-2014 support budget and the 2012-2013 tuition increases be placed back on the agenda for the Board meeting scheduled on December 5, 2011:

The agenda is guided by a set of principles that must be agreed upon by stakeholders at all levels and does not seek to recreate the past and restore the jobs lost to global competition or to revive the debt-fueled follies of the past. It embraces a shift from a consumption-based economy to a production economy focused on global trade.
