Welcome to the California Commission for Economic Development!

Welcome and thank you for visiting the California Commission for Economic Development website. First established in 1971, the CED is a statewide, bipartisan advisory commission responsible for providing advice and recommendations on our state's economic development to the Governor, Legislature and private sector.

The Commission has established two major areas of focus. First, the CED will work to promote the development of a financially and environmentally sustainable growth economy for California. Second, the Commission will emphasize partnerships with business and higher education institutions to ensure that the state's workforce is ready and able to participate in careers of the future, generate high-value jobs and stimulate private investment. The CED has established several advisory committees, who we've asked to report to us on current industry conditions throughout the state.

The CED holds quarterly meetings that are open to the public. Please explore this site to learn more about the initiatives and activities of the CED.
